Fall Cooking Demo—Thanksgiving Comes Early This Year at Crane’s Mill

Imagine watching your favorite cooking show…and being able to smell and taste the food! Yesterday afternoon at Crane’s Mill, a lucky group of residents and guests were able to do exactly that at our special Fall Cooking Demo. Hosted by our Executive Chef Peter Day, those in attendance enjoyed a fun, interactive demonstration complete with a sample of each delicious course. Residents of Crane’s Mill enjoy a wide array of dining options with their flexible meal plans. A crowd favorite is The Candleberry Dining Room, the restaurant-style formal dining room located in the heart of Towne Square. Residents enjoy a variety of menu options—there are about 8-10 “standard” dinners on the menu and diners can ask for just about anything they like. Plus, there are daily specials that offer crowd favorites and exciting new dishes alike. Flexible Meal Plan: How it Works and Why Crane’s Mill Residents Love it!

Visitors to Crane’s Mill are often surprised to learn about the dining options offered at our retirement community. Many retirement communities offer a “one meal per day” plan. Crane’s Mill realizes the need for true independence, and includes for all residents a flexible meal plan. Here’s how it works: A part of each resident’s monthly maintenance fee goes into a flexible meal plan account. The account is replenished on a quarterly basis. Crane’s Mill Dining Gets Rave Reviews

If you’ve had a chance to visit Crane’s Mill recently, you may have noticed the dining venues have been completely renovated. Top to bottom, soup to nuts, the dining room, grill and lounge are absolutely stunning. Sue Knapp, our Director of Dining Services, was kind enough to share a small sample of the feedback she’s received from residents since the renovation. Each evening, Crane’s Mill residents flock to the newly redesigned Candleberry Dining Room for a fine dining experience with friends, family and neighbors.
