Second Annual Crane’s Mill Easter Egg Hunt

Kids of all ages had a blast at this Saturday’s Easter Egg Hunt! Crane’s Mill played host to residents, their family members, and parents and children from around the area on Saturday, April 12 for the community’s Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt! The action took place in Towne Square, with plastic, candy-filled Easter Eggs hidden all around the main lobby (including some clever placement in planters—see pic below). Through the doors of Hinman Hall, guests were treated to cupcakes, juice boxes, and even more candy! Of course, the Easter Bunny himself was on-hand and posed for photos with kids and …Read More »

April is National Garden Month

Residents of Crane’s Mill, an Essex County Retirement Community, enjoy gardening as a fun spring activity. Although today may mark “April Fools’ Day,” we’re not joking when we tell you that that April is National Garden month. Considering we’re in the Garden State, and that our residents enjoy gardening, how can we not celebrate this colorful month! In the colder weather, all sorts of plants and flowers can be seen in our campus greenhouse, but as the weather warms, the ground thaws, and the days grow longer, you’ll begin to see many different gardens sprouting up all around campus. For …Read More »

The temperatures will begin to warm, the days will grow longer, and the beauty of many different colors will appear all around us. It’s truly an inspirational time of year. During an especially long, cold, snowy, icy winter season, the promise of spring can sometimes seem so distant. Yes once again, like clockwork (or, calendar-work?), spring has graciously arrived once again! So let’s enjoy this first day of …Read More »

January is National Thank You Month

After a season of giving and receiving, it’s nice to take a moment to say ‘thanks’ to our family and friends. At Crane’s Mill retirement community in Essex County, NJ, we have a lot to be thankful for. In January, notoriously known as the coldest of winter months here in New Jersey, it’s nice to know that it has been christened “National Thank You Month.” It’s curiously placed, as Thanksgiving is not too far in our rear-view-mirrors, but we do see its merit—the holidays were filled with the spoils of presents, meals, desserts, entertainment, and much more, so perhaps January …Read More »
