Crane’s Mill Chorus Celebrates 22nd Annual Christmas Concert & Tree Lighting Ceremony

The evening concert took place on Tuesday, December 6 at the West Caldwell, New Jersey retirement community

The Crane’s Mill Chorus presented its 22nd Christmas Concert & Tree Lighting Ceremony. This resident-run musical group was formed in 1999, and its first formal concert was at Christmas in 2001. The program took place in Hinman Hall, with an overflow into Towne Square to accommodate the crowd of residents, family members, and friends.

Members of the group, who practice weekly in advance of the big show, include residents who moved to Crane’s Mill 25 years ago when the community first opened its doors.

New residents are also featured. As folks join the community, Nicole Smith, the director of independent living, helps them settle into their new home by finding like-minded friends and neighbors. Some, like our new chorus members, enjoyed choral music for many years and were delighted to find that Crane’s Mill had a chorus of its very own.

Beyond music, residents can take part in many other groups including those for artists, foodies, readers, businesspeople, green-thumbers, and so many more.

Please enjoy this small sample of what was a magical and uplifting evening for all.
