Crane’s Mill Residents Faring Well After ‘Sandy’ Superstorm

World-class service, fine dining and resort-style amenities are what Crane’s Mill is known for providing. But it’s when times are tough when the community’s spirit shines the brightest.

Over the past day and a half, our area was hit hard by what many are calling a superstorm, monster storm or even “Frankenstorm.” Describe her as you will, “Sandy” surely wreaked havoc, and our hearts go out to our friends and loved ones affected by the storm.

At Crane’s Mill, the scene was unsurprisingly one of caring, compassion and more than a little bit of fun. Staff members from all areas including nursing, maintenance, housekeeping, dining and administration worked quite literally “around the clock” to make sure residents were safe and secure, and that our community continued to run as smoothly as possible.

Delicious meals were served buffet style in Towne Square and our Activities Director organized lots of fun including puzzle tables that provided hours of enjoyment. Emergency generators were hard at work to power essential services and light hallways and common areas.

One of the Towne Square fireplaces provided warmth and light this morning.

The Health Center deserves special commendation as excellent care was provided in stride.

Luckily, our power is now fully restored, and for that we are thankful. Our thoughts are with our friends and neighbors here in New Jersey and the surrounding areas affected by this recent storm. Many people are having a hard time right now, and we certainly hope that basements dry out quickly, roads become safe to drive and most of all that everyone is ok.
