Today, we take a look at the number one movie 50 years ago today. On April 29, 1965, the “hills were alive” as The Sound of Music reclaimed the number one box office spot in the country. The musical hit theaters on March 2, spent six weeks at number one, and in a rare move bounced back to the top this week in 1965, on its way to 12 total weeks at number one!
