Do you have a spare minute to read a letter from a family member? We’ve read it multiple times since receiving, and are excited to share with you: Dear Crane’s Mill Staff, I’ve been delayed in dropping you an email to thank you for the responsiveness of the Crane’s Mill staff when my dad’s heating system broke down last Saturday night, right in the midst of this ongoing abnormally frigid early January weather that we’ve been having. When I called Crane’s Mill Security late last Saturday night, Pete answered my call and said he’d be over soon with electric heaters, so …Read More »

Staying Fit All Winter Long

January is a lovely site here at Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell, New Jersey. However, along with the beauty of the snow on the ground come a number concerns, specifically for older adults. All of the equipment is geared specifically for seniors, using …Read More »

Independent Retirement Living with Added Peace of Mind

What’s the first thing we do when we get up in the morning? Typically, we head to the bathroom to get ourselves ready for the day. At Crane’s Mill, in each master bathroom there is a small button that’s part of our “I’m ok” system. The “I’m ok” system adds a sense of security and peace of mind for residents and their family members. Here’s how it works: Each morning, we ask that our residents simply push that button to let our concierge know that you’re up and at ’em. Should a resident not press the button by a certain …Read More »

West Caldwell Resident Grateful for Care Received at Crane’s Mill

“My beautiful mother and friend passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 4, 2016. She was not at her home, nor mine. She was at her other home, Crane’s Mill. Over the past year and a half, whenever Mom was hospitalized and needed physical and /or occupational therapy, she knew that Crane’s Mill was the place that would help her get back onto her feet, and become her independent self again. When Mom was living her last days on this earth, we had hospice care for her in the exact same room and bed that was previously …Read More »
