Winter Storm Quinn Meets Its Match

Residents didn’t miss a beat despite this week’s second nor’easter, which dumped 18 inches of wet, heavy snow in West Caldwell.

Thanks to the efforts of dozens of dedicated employees, Crane’s Mill residents are faring this latest winter storm very nicely—they are well-fed, have full power and heat, and even the campus-wide wi-fi is operational.

Despite the wind and snowfall, our staff has been hard at work, and our residents stayed largely unaffected. Approximately 65 team members from all key departments stayed overnight from Wednesday into Thursday to guarantee having staff on-hand to tend to our residents’ needs.

Morning routines went off without a hitch. Our residents’ Fitbits registered their usual moves in exercise class and the gym, while others took to the pool for lap swimming. And because every apartment home is connected to Towne Square, no one had to risk a treacherous traipse through the snow.

Maintenance and landscaping teams continued to keep roadways and walkways clear. They spent the early part of the day focused on main roadways, and shifted their afternoon focus to cleaning individual residents’ cars while keeping the sidewalks thoroughly salted.

Speaking of salt (of another variety, of course), the well-seasoned dining services team kept things running smoothly, serving hot breakfast and lunch in the Heartwood Café.

We hope you and yours fared well in the storm too. Want to learn more about Crane’s Mill? Call us at 973-276-6700 or click here to get in touch.
