Crane’s Mill Chorus Spring Concert An Uplifting Performance
The Crane’s Mill Chorus performed to a packed Hinman Hall audience for its annual spring concert, “A Hope For The Future.”
Every spring, the group presents a performance following months of practice (beginning soon after the annual Christmas concert). This year’s concert sought inspiration from the season’s blooming trees and singing birds, resulting in a musically-colorful show that attendees described as “whimsical” and “adventurous.”
Selections included favorites such as “Edelweiss,” “Shenandoah,” and “Over the Rainbow.” A rousing rendition of “Hey Jude” and the heartwarming “Smile” added emotion and while showcasing the group’s impressive range.
“The chorus is a longstanding tradition here at Crane’s Mill,” shared Nicole Smith, the community’s director of independent living. “As we celebrate Crane’s Mill’s 25th anniversary, it’s exciting to see how the chorus has evolved and continues to be such a popular group—for both members of the chorus and those who come to enjoy the show.”
The Chorus is made up entirely of residents and is directed by Sarah Candido with accompanist Susan Klock. Guest musicians included Fran DePalma-Iozzi and Louis Iozzi.
