Crane’s Mill Admissions Team Combines Experience, Compassion to Help Seniors and their Families

This renowned area of the community is staffed by longtime employee Christina Brophy-Goldsmith, director of admissions, and Kelly Berkemeyer, the community’s newly-recruited clinical liaison.

Together, this dynamic team helps prospective residents and families feel at ease, and not just because of their pleasant demeanors—their experience in senior living and healthcare makes them true experts in the field. From Medicare and managed care to joint replacements and cardio therapy, they are adept in helping families navigate the ever-changing healthcare landscape.

Christina holds an English degree from Montclair State University and has a passion for what she does every day. “I began my career at Crane’s Mill over nine years ago, working hands-on with the residents,” said Christina. “When the opportunity arose to lead our admissions department, I jumped at the chance, knowing that I would play a key role in each resident’s recovery.”

Kelly Berkemeyer joined the community in late 2019 as clinical liaison. An LPN with 11 years of experience in healthcare, Kelly is eager to spread the word about the community’s services. “We offer excellent healthcare for seniors, and are preferred providers for multiple area hospitals,” said Kelly.

“My time as an EMT made me realize I loved helping people, which led to my becoming a nurse,” said Kelly of her practical experience. “This new role at Crane’s Mill is a natural progression for me, as it calls upon my clinical healthcare knowledge and my broad understanding of senior care.”
