Crane’s Mill Resident Book Signing a Huge Success

Charlotte Mandel, a resident at Crane’s Mill Retirement Community in Essex County, New Jersey, hosted a full house in the community’s auditorium.

Beth Sparling (left), Executive Director of Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell, congratulates Charlotte Mandel, a resident at the continuing care retirement community.  Mrs. Mandel was the featured speaker at a poetry reading and book-signing event held on September 18 at Crane’s Mill.  The author of eight books of poetry, Mrs. Mandel received the 2012 New Jersey Poets Prize, and two fellowships in poetry from New Jersey State Council on the Arts.  Her new book, Life Work, explores the progress of a loving marriage into loss and transcendence, homage to artists, concern for the effects of war on humanity and nature.
