Crane’s Mill Chorus Celebrates 15th Anniversary at Annual Tree Lighting Program
On Tuesday, December 8th, Crane’s Mill held is annual Tree Lighting Program.
The community welcomed over 200 residents and family members for its annual Tree Lighting Program and Crane’s Mill Chorus Holiday Concert. The program took place in Hinman Hall, with an overflow into the couches and easy chairs Towne Square to accommodate the crowd.
The program kicked off with a message from Pam Marusic, Interim Executive Director, who gave the crowd a warm welcome before lighting the two decked-out Christmas trees.
The Crane’s Mill Chorus, celebrating its 15th anniversary, shined with rousing renditions of crowd favorites “Silver Bells” and “O Come All Ye Faithful”, plus the audience-assisted The “Twelve Days of Christmas”.
The chorus is directed by Fran DePalma-Iozzi, with Stephen Wu, Accompanist, and guest flutists Lou Iozzi and Dave Hogenauer (also a Crane’s Mill resident).
Here’s more about our Crane’s Mill Chorus from the evening’s program:
“Soon after Crane’s Mill opened in 1999, twelve residents gathered to continue the joy of choral singing.
In 2001 Crane’s Mill engaged a Director to work with the group and the first formal concert was presented at Christmas.
In 2005 the Chorus was asked to present the Tree Lighting Program. This tradition has continued through tonight’s program. The Crane’s Mill Residents’ Association continues its support for which the Chorus members are most grateful.”
