Activities Abound at Crane’s Mill

Crane’s Mill residents can lead an active, healthy lifestyle with a small city’s worth of physical, cultural and spiritual programs just steps from their front door.

Each month, the Millstream newsletter features a full calendar of events for residents to enjoy. In May, there are over 175 activities at the Essex County retirement community. Some of the daily activities include morning stretch, lap swim, water aerobics, Pilates, needlework, book club, bible study, bridge, Mah Jong and bingo.

Many of the programs take place in Towne Square, the central spot for dining, exercise, music, meetings and more. Connected to every apartment in the community, Towne Square is home to multiple dining venues, an indoor pool and hot tub, state-of-the-art fitness center and Hinman Hall.

Beyond regular off-campus trips to grocery shopping, general errands and Willowbrook and Livingston Malls, the Crane’s Mill bus treks our residents throughout New Jersey and beyond.  This month, there are two trips to Drew University in nearby Madison, New Jersey to enjoy musical performances by the Masterwork Chorus and Discovery Orchestra.

For those looking for music close to home (in this case, actually straight to their home!) there are multiple musical performances in Hinman Hall including the Central Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Chanteurs Vocal Ensemble and our very own Crane’s Mill Chorus. Residents can further get into the groove with regularly scheduled professional dance classes.

Don’t forget weekly mixers in the Cherry Blossom Lounge, morning, afternoon and evening movies and religious services including Sunday Worship, Catholic Mass and Shabbat Service.
