A Look Back: Highlights from the February Activities Calendar
The Northern New Jersey winter weather didn’t stop Crane’s Mill Retirement Community residents from having an exceptional month filled with all sorts of fun activities.
Join us as we take look back at the exciting month that was at Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell, New Jersey:
Feb 2: The month kicked-off with a Super Bowl party in the Cherry Blossom Lounge
Feb 4: The Music of Oscar Hammerstein live performance in Hinman Hall
Feb 5: Reading, Writing, and Graceful Aging in the Library
Feb 7: Lyrica Chamber Music concert by guitarist M. Grgic in Hinman Hall
Feb 11: “Songs of the American Road” in Hinman Hall
Feb 12: Montclair Art Trip – Poetry and Art
Feb 14: An afternoon for Hopeless Romantics in Towne Square
Feb 17: Current Events Discussion Group in the Activities Room
Feb 18: History of New Jersey’s Appalachian Trail
Feb 19: The Importance of Posture in Fall Prevention in Hinman Hall
Feb 20: Hearts of Hope Fundraiser benefiting the Lutheran Foundation of New Jersey
Feb 21: Sing-Along with resident favorite Ron Owens
Feb 24: Sands Casino trip to Bethlehem, PA
Feb 25: Art of the Masters Group Art Project in the Activities Room
Feb 27: Cello & Bass Concert – America Songbook Jazz-Pop Standards in Hinman Hall
Feb 28: Group trip to Benvenuti’s Italian Restaurant
As you can see, there were a wide variety of on and off campus activities this February. For the off campus trips, transportation is included for all Crane’s Mill residents, and on-campus activities take place in Towne Square, so there’s no need to outside to get to great activities and programs—especially convenient when you have such a snowy month!
In addition to the above, there of course are many “standard” goings on throughout each month, such as the daily exercise classes, Sunday Night Social, Happy Hour each Thursday, religious services, card games, puzzles, morning, afternoon, and evening movies, BINGO, support groups, trips for errands and shopping, movie theaters, and many more ways for Crane’s Mill residents to stay active and engaged regardless of the weather.
